Josephine Piraneo is a native New Yorker who is as crazy as the city she grew up in. As a child, her favorite toy was Emerald The Witch, a small doll with green eyes, green hair and purple skin.

Looking back, Josephine says, "I've always had a love for the paranormal. Whether it be a doll with flashing green eyes, or a magical Mary Poppins-like nanny, I've always been intrigued by mystical, magical things."

Miss Piraneo's books and novellas have garnered numerous awards and nominations, including the Sapphire Award, P.E.A.R.L. Award, Bloody Dagger Award, & The Word Weaving Award for Excellence in Literature. Her first book, COME THE NIGHT, made Fictionwise's Best of the Best list, rounding out the top five best selling dark fantasy books of the year. Josephine has appeared on TV, has been a guest at DragonCon and her books have been featured on Midwest Book Review's Book Watch TV.

Miss Piraneo is also the recipient and two-time nominee of the Dream Realm Award for Best Cover Art. Her digital art renders have been selected by E-Frontier America, makers of POSER software, for their online gallery and have also been featured at Daz3D's Monthly and PC Galleries. When not writing, Josephine enjoys traveling, learning about the ancient Celts, exploring history, and learning new languages. Josephine studied history and French literature at Skidmore College. Currently, she is tackling Gaelic Irish.

Under the pen name Angelique Armae, Miss Piraneo writes dark romantic fantasy with a Celitc flair and urban fantasy. These critically acclaimed novels and novellas include tales of angels, vampires, gargoyles, witches and more.

M.A. duBarry titles are historical, paranormal and dark fantasy romances written in a sensual nature. These books are for readers 18 years of age and older.
