Lane Brooks's football-coach father wasn't talking about Clay Crawford when he coined the saying, but no way is Lane going to let Clay convince her that they can be lovers as well as competitors.

Never mind the romantic, sexy night they shared before Lane realized Clay was her counterpart on a competing newspaper. Giving in to her attraction would surely kill her competitive edge.
