Summary

Major Helen Prescott has always played by the rules. At the military academy years before, Rafe Santiagos teasing had made her miserable, and, with his irresistible good looks, he is the man responsible for her one momentary lapse of self-control. So when a stint in the National Guard brings him under her command, Helen lays down the law. But then a routine skydive goes awry, and they parachute straight into the 1850 California Gold Rush, where they are mistaken for a notorious bandit and his infamously sensuous mistress. Suddenly, Rafes teasing remarks make her feel all woman, and she is ready to throw caution to the wind if she can spend every night in his arms.
