"An extraordinary adventure in a futuristic romance!"
Patti O'Shea has written an amazing sci-fi/futuristic
romance where she delves into the heart of what love is
truly about and what personal risks we take to reach for it
if brave enough. And all this achieved while experiencing
an amazing adventure on the planet Jarved Nine. Ravyn Verdier has been on the uninhabited planet of
Jarved Nine for nine months as a communications specialist
with a team of researchers. But something goes very wrong.
Leaving briefly to work on a special communications project
while her friends are gathered in a communal room, she
returns to stumble over the bodies of her dead friends and
coworkers. Terrified beyond measure Ravyn seeks refuge in
her room not knowing when the murderer will come for her
next. Captain Damon Brody of the Special Op's team is also on
the planet for military purposes when the distress signal
comes in from the research site. Quickly responding to the
signal, Captain Brody finds one very scared and blood
covered woman underneath a bed. He manages to calm her down
enough to discover that Ravyn is the sole survivor of this
tragedy. As he is busy assisting her little does he realize
but the very stealth predator has hit again and this time
taking out his whole team. Knowing they must move on and do whatever it takes to
survive this nightmare Captain Brody and Ravyn Verdier set
out for the abandoned Old City. Since the Special Ops
transport has been damaged they must go on foot making it a
very arduous journey. One that will test their wills,
shakes their confidences, and ultimately opens their
hearts. As inevitably an attraction is formed. Once they are upon the Old City a strange form of déjà
vu start to occur as if they know the city far more
intimately than each realizes. As this knowledge begins to
reveal itself so does a greater purpose in their
relationship. But as with all relationships and the gift of
love, are these two willing to leg go of years of self
preservation and hardship to open themselves up to
vulnerability again, especially when they may not survive
the murderer that still hunts them. Ms. O'Shea does an astounding job at creating a
compelling and heartfelt story. Her characters feel real as
you experience their journey both internally and
externally. To give the story even further dimension there
are secondary characters we get to follow as Ravyn's
stepbrother, Colonel Alex Sullivan of Special Ops forms a
team to come rescue her. However he is unprepared for
Ravyn's best friend, Stacey, whom he knows has been
attracted to him since they first met years ago. This book was incredible and I can't recommend it enough
with its fascinating plot and powerful ending; you just
can't go wrong! The romance is hot, the love is deep and
the settings easy to visualize. Fabulous job Ms. O'Shea I
truly look forward to your next novel!
