"Fantastic dark Fantasy!"

After her father died, Jameela's brothers spent her dowry and really didn't want to deal with her anymore, so they sold her into slavery. Shivering on the auction block, Jameela has grave doubts as to her future. When the very handsome Master Trainer of the Conclave, Lord Dagan Kiel, claims her, she begins to fear even more. It is a well- known fact, if a woman goes into the Keep of the Brotherhood at Lalssu, she will never leave again. During her training, Jameela begins to fall in love with the handsome Trainer.

Dagan Kiel was given a task by the Grand Master of the Brotherhood, he is to find a wife for the Grand Master. When he spies Jameela on the auction block, he is immediately taken with her and decides to purchase her. During Jameela's training, Dagan finds himself drawn to the beautiful maiden. The first time this has ever happened to him. This attraction comes as quite a surprise to Dagan since his father made sure he would never be able to sire children. Along with his lost manhood, it was certified Dagan wouldn't experience any sexual feelings at all.

When Jameela's training is complete, she must go through the "Choosing", whereby a member of the Brotherhood will choose Jameela to be become his mate. When the Grand Master chooses Jameela to become his wife, Dagan knows he's in trouble. When the Grand Master discovers the two have feelings for each other, how will he react?

Will Dagan be able to give up Jameela? Will Jameela be able to accept the Grand Master as her husband when she's in love with Dagan?

DESIRE'S SIROCCO held me completely enthralled throughout all the twists and turns of this story. Charlotte Boyett- Compo shows her story writing ability in this tale of love and hate and evil beings. The world-building in this story is sufficient to understand what is going on without being overbearing. The characters are all realistic, I really like what happens to the mean old Brother Qutaybah. The sex is hot, the story doesn't bog down and keeps moving. I recommend this one to all lovers of dark fantasy!

Summary

Though he trains his charge with the Grand Master in mind, he does not count on falling in love and lust with the lovely Jameela. Her father and brothers sold Jameela into slavery. She had resigned herself to an existence of backbreaking work or exacting degradation. When the forbidding Lord Dagan purchases her, she knows her life is in the hands of he handsome lord. Learning his terrible secret only deepens a love that began on the long ride to the Keep. But the lovers must face formidable obstacles that will take them from the highest plains of desire to the lowest depths of fear. They will battle unseen forces, which threaten to tear them apart and are forced into lethal situations where only love can stay the hand of death. Before Jameela is handed over into the Grand Master's keeping, sheer evil will trod the land and Dagan will know to what depths he is willing to go to keep her at his side.
