REVIEW

"Thrilling sci fi story by debut author!"

Miguel Guido teaches physics at the college level. He's become very good friends with a former student of his, Carlos. The two of them have been performing experiments in Miguel's garage concerning anti-gravity. When something screwy happens, Miguel's pregnant wife, Rachel, manages to unplug the machine. The next time Carlos comes over, they try the experiment again with the same results. This time, an officer from the navy shows up at the door demanding to know what's going on. At this point, Miguel knows he's going to have to disappear again. The last time the military got a hold of him, they did all kinds of experiments on him. He's not about to let that happen again. So he sends Rachel and his son to her brother's house for the time being. The day Carlos comes to visit him at the college, his boss comes into the office and drives him to the hospital. It turns out there was an accident and Rachel and his son were killed.

The navy officer ended up visiting Mr. Jones, someone who works for an unidentified source. It turns out the Commission is pulling Mr. Jones' strings, and paying his salary. They want Miguel. The Commission is made up of people who just happen to be immortal and they know Miguel is one of them. They want him to join the Commission. Mr. Jones sends one of his henchmen to pick up Miguel after the funeral, when they know Miguel will be alone. Well, the henchman likes to use more force than necessary, and not only kills Miguel's dog, but manages to shoot Miguel as well, then runs. Carlos shows up and buries the dog and takes Miguel away.

After spending some time in Canada, Miguel eventually lands in California and settles there. Eventually, he reconnects with Carlos and they continue their experiments until they have a probe they make and send it into space. The probe is headed for Mars, but Miguel makes it detour when he finds a mass headed for Earth. The mass is big enough to bring on a new "Ice Age".

Will the Commission ever get their hands on Miguel? Will they ever give up and leave him alone? What of this mass? Will Carlos, Miguel and their new friends find a way to save Earth and humankind?

IMPACT VECTOR is a thrilling science fiction adventure. Debut author Daniel Wilder does a wonderful job of bringing this story to life within the pages of the book. We have more than our fair share of bad guys in this story, along with some really wonderful good guys. The story doesn't bog down in scientific details, or believe me, I would have been totally lost. The plots and subplots race along to the thrilling conclusion of the story and kept me turning pages way beyond my normal bedtime. The characters are all very well written and the emotions they engage are exactly what they should be. This is one story you don't want to miss!
