"Fantastic Ghost Story!"
Finally looking forward to a few days off from her dead-
end job, Laura Flannery is home. At the mailbox retrieving
her mail, she's accosted by her nosy neighbor, Mrs.
Waterby. Somehow or other, Laura knows Mrs. Waterby is
going to ask her to help take care of her cats while Laura
is on vacation. Having no intentions of spending her few
days off in this manner, Laura blurts out she's actually
leaving to go somewhere. When Mrs. Waterby wants details,
Laura notices a postcard advising of an opening of a new
bed and breakfast in New Orleans and this is the place
Laura gives as her destination. Even though the older
woman is clearly annoyed by this information, she
grudgingly accepts Laura's decision and goes back to her
own home. When Laura starts going through the mail, she
notices an odd smell—something musty, of old earth.
Finally finding the culprit, the postcard from Greenwood
Manor in New Orleans, Laura throws it in the trash. Going
about her normal routine, the postcard just keeps turning
up every time Laura turns around. Finally giving in to the
inevitable, Laura calls and gets herself a reservation for
two days at Greenwood Manor. When the cab finally arrives at her destination, the
driver keeps asking her if this is where she wants to be
dropped off. Laura is having a hard time trying to figure
out why. What Laura sees is a beautiful mansion,
wonderfully restored. As she walks around, things start
looking familiar to her and Laura can't figure out why.
The more time she spends in the mansion, the more she
feels as if this place is somewhere she has lived.
Finally, Laura notices the housekeeper's feet don't touch
the ground when she walks. Laura also sees a ghost appear,
a handsome man with auburn hair. Laura knows this man, she
was married to him! Why was Laura brought to this place? Why does she feel so
familiar in Greenwood Manor? Why is this ghost here and
how does she know him? GREENWOOD MANOR is a haunting story of love. Shannon
Leigh, as always, does a marvelous job of bringing her
characters to life. As we learn more about Greenwood
Manor, right along with Laura, we are brought into the
mystery of why she is here and what happened to her and
her family in the past. We become caught up in the very
real emotions between the ghost and Laura as she begins to
remember her previous life. The paranormal aspects of this
story are incredibly realistic and force us to wonder if
it could really happen. This is beautifully written story
of love lasting through the ages and I highly recommend it!

SummaryLaura Flannery needs a vacation from her boring life and a
break from nosy
neighbors. So when a postcard arrives in the mail
announcing the grand
opening of a bed and breakfast in New Orleans, she decides
to give it a try.
Deposited on the doorstep of what appears to be a
beautifully restored
mansion, Laura finds it odd the cab driver is so eager to
drive away; and
that's just the beginning.
From a butler who seems to avoid any physical contact what
so ever, to a
housekeeper who floats rather than walks, Laura can't help
but start
questioning her sanity. Then, when a man she's never seen
before appears
before her and claims he's her dead husband, she has to
decide if it's time
to head for the hills or stay and discover what secret
past she has with
Greenwood Manor and it's handsome, albeit deceased, owner.
