"A compelling world filled with mystery and romance"
Dr. C.J. Montgomery has finally realized that the
alien, Areth, aren't telling the truth. The Areth
came to Earth and claimed that humans were descendants
of the members of an Areth spaceship lost ten thousand
years before. After an initial period of distrust,
the Areth have infiltrated all walks of human society. For many years C.J. believed the Areth-- that they
only wished to help humans. Unfortunately, the Areth
are not what they appear, C.J. discovers that the
Areth are holding humans captive. One of these
captives is Michael Tanner, the son of C.J.'s former
lover. Nick Tanner thought that Michael was born dead
and that his wife died in childbirth. Nick is
surprised to learn, that his son is very much alive
after twenty-five years. Nick, a former Earth Forces
pilot, joins C.J.'s group to rescue the captives from
the clutches of the Areth. RISING UP blew me away! Ms. Delaney creates a
compelling world filled with mystery and romance.
C.J. and Nick are forced to overcome the troubles of
the past to get a second chance at love. Michael, who
has been abused as an Areth captive, must learn to
trust and love. I enjoyed the fact that Ms. Delaney
didn't portray all Areths as evil, but as individuals
with unique personalities. I am enthralled by the
mystery of the Areth and can't wait for the next
installment to the series.

SummarySome say the Areth are our salvation, others our doom.
Retired Colonel Nick Tanner doesn't care.
Not until Caitlin Montgomery, the woman he was never able
to forget, finds him in his solitude and changes everything.
His son -- the child he was told died 25 years before -- is
alive and needs him. Nick will do whatever it takes to
bring Michael home. He'll lay down his life, if that's the
cost to reveal the truth and stop the Areth.
Now... he cares. And if he ever finds the Areth that stole
his son from him, she'll pay.
