REVIEW

"an intense thrill ride of a story"

On Zurin Five Penitentiary in the Andromeda Galaxy excessive mining of the drug, Styx, by the Duran Corporation has caused the planet to destabilize, and the Zurin five is in its death throws. Unfortunately, the Duran Corporation and its civilian employees have deserted the planet , leaving the prisoners and a few guards behind to die. Lucia Isles and Jonathan Thrower, two guards, get stranded in the underground prison and must work together to survive.

Wow! THE GARRISON: CATWALK is a great read! Ms. Verdenius creates such an intense thrill ride of a story, that I was biting my nails and praying for Lucia and Jonathan. They contended with lava worms, bearcats, escaped prisoners, and tunnels collapsing around them. The tension is thick, but relieved by the banter between the hero and heroine. The wise-cracking between Jonathan and Lucia caused me many a chuckle, and I grew to love both characters.

THE GARRISON is turning out to be a marvelous science fiction romance series, and CATWALK is a favorite and now holds a place on my keeper shelf. Do yourself a favor and read THE GARRISON: CATWALK.

Lucia Isles is Second-in-command at the Zurin Five Penitentiary. It's not been a good day. The planet is crumbling, the prison breaking apart, she's trapped in collapsing tunnels deep in the underbelly of the prison, there are escaped psychotic prisoners who are subjects of an experiment, and creatures she never knew existed roaming the tunnels.

Oh, yeah, and there is her handsome fellow guard and royal pain in the proverbial on a good day, Jonathon Thrower. A shame he's going as psychotic as the rest of the prisoners. Yep, things are just going from bad to worse...
