"Absolutely memorable mix of mysticism, magic, and lore"

Tanith Aesir returns to Nashira, the planet of her childhood, on an assignment to the Circle of Nine. Her mission as a Janissary is to retrieve the Amulet of Suonetar, an amulet that can choose or reject the leader whose neck it adorns. With her ship destroyed, Tanith has been unable to communicate with the Circle and assure them that she lives. Her time spent on Nashira has given Tanith an unexpected gift. She has become Stormrider, a woman able to communicate telepathically with a pack of wolves.

The wolves call to Stormrider, seeking her aid in rescuing a man from a bear. A deadly battle results in his rescue, but Stormrider is outraged to learn that he is a bounty hunter sent by the Circle of Nine who believe her to be dead. Raptor Simic has reputation for being one of the most dangerous and one of the most accomplished of his kind and her rescue of Raptor results in him owing her a blood debt. Despite their conflict over who will rescue the amulet, they are bound together in an attempt to survive a harsh environment that conceals dangerous adversaries.

Author Peggy Bechko presents a fascinating and intriguing tale in STORMRIDER that will certainly delight fantasy lovers. Not only are the main characters memorable and exciting, but the wolves are also impressive. Each of the three wolves has its own personality, bringing their unique perspectives and wisdom to the tale. The mix of mysticism, magic, and lore of the ancients likewise provide a captivating background. Readers accustomed to the traditional quest in the fantasy genre will find that Bechko has a striking flair for originality. Vividly rendered and entrancingly told, STORMRIDER comes highly recommended.

Summary

Stormrider, young woman Janissary, quests for justice and peace on her rebellion-torn world, several continents away from what she considers home, and for the missing Amulet that can choose the leader of the worlds in concert.

Stormrider is in her prime, trained like few others, strong and independent, when she is sent on a mission by the Circle of Nine to retrieve the missing Amulet of the Suonetar.

Like the myths of old which tell of heroes and heroines who must discover the worth of friends and the meaning of life, Stormrider is cast adrift in a sea of intrigue, mysticism, magic and the lore of the ancients. Isolated, she is dependent upon her own wits and skills to survive and seek the amulet.
