REVIEW

"Two Tempting Fairytales that will raise your Temperature!"

The Ohio vampire writers have done it again with these two not to be missed adult fairytales for readers who dare to dream! PARADOX makes the impossible seem deliciously possible.

"Fly With A Dragon" by Rosemary Laurey

Rosemary Laurey, author of the coveted "IN MOONLIGHT" series, forces our imaginations to take wing, as a courageous young woman stoically faces death, but instead receives a reward beyond her ability to dream. Prepare to burn!

Myfanwy attempted to shore her trepidation as she waited helplessly to become the dragon's next victim. She had witnessed the charred remains of his last two victims and was determined to face her inevitable death with courage. How had she, the daughter of the village chieftain come to this?

It had been the dragon's request for a virgin that had sealed her fate. While the other maidens had taken great pains to ensure that they didn't qualify, Myfawnwy's virtue had been carefully guarded by her father and her brothers. Those same loving men had secured her to the sacrificial oak with no means of escape.

The dragon of Cader Bala was most pleased with his offering. He had little respect for humans, but this feisty little one seemed different. The goddess had given the dragons wonderous gifts. Some, like fire and knives, they had shared with mankind. But whatever they had shown them, the barbarians had used them for ill. They'd forgotten about their benefactors, and the dragons were determined to share no more knowledge with them. However, Arragh could not help admire Myfawnwy, who had faced him with unusual bravery. She would not be his victim, for in truth dragons did not kill. He had a different fate in store for her. She would be the hope of his people, his mate.

Soon Myfawnwy learns the truth. Her predecessors indeed not been fried by Arragh but by the villagers themselves. With Aargh's aid they both escape, though Myfawnwy suffers a serious burn. Not only does the dragon heal her pain, but the pleasure of his lips on her body gives her pause to wonder at her true fate as they wing their way to Cader Ambris, the fire mountain.

Myfawny is amazed at the advanced amenities which Aargh's home has to offer, and charmed by the kindness of his folk as they prepare her for her mating. Though she doesn't know exactly what to expect, Arragh had won her trust and stirred her desire. Whatever was to come, she knew that with a dragon it could only be hot, hot, hot!

Whew! Have some ice water handy. If this extremely erotic fantasy doesn't make you break out in a sweat, nothing will! This tale however is a multifaceted one. Ms. Laurey, a former teacher, wraps a lesson in this blanket of sensuality, reminding us how fickle and destructive we can be, and reinforcing the adage that one shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. Good show!

"Heart of a Raven" by J. C. Wilder

J. C. Wilder, author of "THE SHADOW DWELLERS" series, is well known and loved for her sensual sub-genre romances. Fans will love this latest piece. Ms. Wilder has taken a woman of pure heart, and passionate soul, and transformed her into a woman capable of winning the hearts of her lover's people while saving his tortured soul with the power of her love. Never has a fairytale sizzled like this one! HEART OF THE RAVEN is a highly sensual combination of Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella, which will leave readers yearning for more of its kind.

Dani had the misfortune of being born into a pack of shiftless travelers, a caste to too lowly to be even considered common. Drunks, gamblers, and thieves, they drifted from town to town quickly wearing out their welcome. Dani dreamed of getting away, had even tried once, which is how she found herself shackled to the wheel of her father, Con's, wagon. Her biggest fear is that she'll be sold into slavery, as her older sister had been when her father had been low on funds.

That is exactly what happens one night when two well dressed strangers ask to share their fire. Seeing a chance to make some easy money, her father and uncle invite the two men to gamble. Dani's uncle plays them deeply debt and Con offers the men Dani in payment.

The elder of the two strangers, Haaken, offers her the choice to stay or go. Dani decides that to go would be the lesser of the two evils, but intends to disabuse the stranger of the idea that she is any man's slave. Haaken can't quite decide what he will do with her when they arrive in Wryven.

Finding herself in much changed circumstances, Dani felt she could do almost anything for Haaken. She learns that he is the Overseer of the city, descended from a long line of overseers, all cursed. The tale of the curse is told in stained glass in the Overseer's bedchamber. Long ago Haaken's ancestor had proven to be a heartless man. A curse was cast upon him and the first born sons of his descendants, to be a man by night, and a raven by day until he could give his heart fully to his one true love.

But Haaken is anything but a beast. He is well loved by his siblings, his men, and his people. He is well on his way to winning Dani's heart too. His latest journey to find his true love had proved fruitless, and his time is running out. Hope returns, however, when Haaken's sister notices the mark of the raven's claw on Dani's lower spine. Can she be "The One"? Haaken is sure of it, for Dani makes him feel like no woman ever has, but can he afford to risk his heart? As his thirtieth birthday approaches, and the curse threatens to swallow what's left of his humanity, how can he not?

If you've ever dreamed of living passionately ever after, this one's for you!
